National Standards for Disability Services

Investigating Operational Excellence

The National Standards for Disability Services (NSDS) enables nationally consistent, quality standards to be used for the diverse disability services sector.

With the roll-out of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), Australia has moved towards person-centred approaches, promoting choice and celebrating the individuality of people with a disability.

The Standards cover six key areas, which are Rights, Participation and Inclusion, Individual Outcomes, Feedback and Complaints, Service Access and Service Management. The guidelines are a fundamental part of the Government’s commitment to providing an equal playing field for everyone.
